Tournament format, ratings and rules
Wülfing-Etter Memorial Tournament: Swiss system; two games with alternating colours · Rounds: 5 · Time control: 10 minutes per player per game
The current FIDE rapid chess rules apply with the linked club clarifications.
The linked club rules state that these rapid and blitz events are not submitted for rapid or blitz rating.
An illegal move can be corrected before pressing the clock, subject to touch-move. Afterwards the opponent may claim; a valid claim loses the game for the player unless the opponent has no theoretical mating material. The claim right ends when the opponent touches a piece intending to move or capture.
If both flags fall, the player whose time expired first loses; if the clock cannot establish that, the game is drawn. For play continuing after one flag falls, the linked club rule gives further details. Arbiters make final individual decisions.
A won match is worth two match points and a drawn match one point per player. If all criteria remain tied for the tournament win, a play-off is held under the same conditions.
